The Technical Services Department seats at the nexus of project conception, execution, and knowledge management to catalyze finance and investment for agricultural development. It leads the Fund’s development impact by ensuring that the Fund’s interventions are strategically designed to deliver Nigeria’s agricultural transformation agenda for increased productivity and a secured national food system.

Through its units — Mechanization, Infrastructure, Inputs, Climate Finance, ESG, and Research & Development, the department identifies and supports projects that address critical gaps across the agricultural value chain to attract investment. These units provide expert guidance to ensure that interventions are technically and economically viable, inclusive, scalable, and environmentally sustainable.

What We Do

  • Mechanization Unit designs and supports mechanization initiatives, ensuring accessibility, affordability and efficient use of modern agricultural machinery and equipment to enhance productivity.
  • Infrastructure Unit focuses on development and delivery of programs and initiatives in irrigation, storage, processing, renewable energy, rural roads, and logistics to enhance agricultural productivity, value addition and market access.
  • Inputs Unit supports the development and delivery of programs and initiatives that ensure the availability, accessibility and environmentally sustainable use of quality agricultural inputs.
  • Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Desk ensures that every project, investment, and partnership aligns with global best practices to support climate resilience, social inclusion, and institutional governance standards along with ESG-aligned monitoring, evaluation, and public disclosure.
  • Climate Finance Desk drives climate smart agriculture models consistent with global sustainability and resilience frameworks, and provides technical assistance in qualifying projects for eligibility in green finance.
  • Research & Development (R&D) Desk leads agricultural innovation by conducting research, piloting new models, and analyzing sector trends to support research-to-market strategies, guide evidence-based investment decisions, and generate materials for agricultural extension messaging.

With a commitment to data-driven planning, stakeholder collaboration, and impact-oriented execution, the Technical Services Department ensures that NADF’s interventions deliver lasting solutions for farmers, agribusinesses, and rural communities.
